Bovine: The sun never sets on the British Empire

24/04/13  ||  Cobal

That terrible monickers preced terrible music is not written in stone, I’ve learnt that. If you thought Baroness’ latest work was good, but a bit too sweet, “The sun never sets on the British Empire” might be your thing. Bovine —dafuq?— play a pretty intense form of sludge music and they do it with some elegance. Besides, I found the guitar playing interesting and with several different textures to be discovered, as well as groovy rhythmical arrangements in which all instruments participate. Last three years have been good for lovers of slow-motion trippy heavy music. Cheers.

8/10: Thanks for sparing us the cow mooing.
